 AP - There was no third-quarter breakdown for the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night, just the desperate play of a team whose quest for a second straight NBA title was on the line. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili both scored 31 points to lead the Spurs to a 110-99 victory over the New Orleans Hornets in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals.

Ben Heck is up to some new tricks again, putting the metal to the pedal this time. The gaming hardware mod designer has created a Guitar Hero mod, the Guitar Hero pedal controller. The pedal controller places the strum and whammy bar from the Guitar Hero controller on your foot.
"What you do is use your foot and click your toes up or down to strum or navigate menus," said Ben Heck, "To perform a whammy you lift up your heel - the spring loaded plate is shown in the up (full whammy) position in the photo, but normally your heel compresses it (no whammy)."
It might give your toes a workout, but it does let you play with one hand free. See a video from Ben Heck here for a demo of the Guitar Hero pedal controller in action (via a nice music video).

DICE's new Parkour FPS will be in 720p on 360 and PS3.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com at Sony's recent PlayStation Day event in London, DICE's general manager Sean Decker said that while gamers can expect "crisp, clear texture resolutions" in certain situations both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will be displayed in the high definition minimum of 720p. |

Electronic Arts' Pandemic Studios has announced The Lord of the Rings: Conquest. Coming from Pandemic, open playing fields and large scale battles come to mind. Pandemic Studios is known for their open-world action combat work on games such as Mercenaries and Star Wars Battlefront. Does this mean we can expect a similar treatment in a Lord of the Rings setting, with large scale battles against trolls? Read on.
About The Lord of the Rings: Conquest: "Set in The Lord of the Rings universe of J.R.R. Tolkien as depicted by the Academy Award-winning films, players will finally fight the entirety of these epic battles any way they want. In addition to crusading as the heroic forces of good, for the first time ever in a The Lord of the Rings action title theyll conquer Middle-earth while playing as the legions of Saurons evil army, including Cave-trolls, Oliphaunts, the Balrog and Sauron himself."
The first in-game video and trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Conquest will be released on Spike TVs GameTrailers TV on Friday, June 20th. Keep a lookout for it there. We'll post it as well, soon after it is released.
